Most of you know by now that I have a book coming out in two weeks on the Serenity Prayer. Some of you also know that I’ve had no child care since July, a situation that has been testing my own serenity of late. Rather than writing a long blog post about the spiritual lessons I’ve been given this week, I’ll share the bloopers from my attempt to make a little video that my publicist can send to TV producers. I hope others find this as funny as our family did.
So here’s where I am now: 1. I’ve accepted that school doesn’t start until Tuesday and resolved to have fun with the kids, despite all the book publicity work I could be doing; 2. I’ve decided to hire a profession videographer. (Getting the lighting right is much harder than I ever realized and the main reason I tried this so many different locations.) I was a little slower in reaching these insights than I’d like to admit, but better late than never.
LOL Eileen, that was fun and I needed the laugh!!
Good luck with it, hopefully the pro will help you get something you can use.
Went to school for the before school conference today. We are all chomping at the bit for school to start on Tuesday!
Thanks for sharing your imperfection. I liked when you paused and simply said, "Serenity." And also the shot focused on your son climbing the tree in the background!
Thanks for sharing that Eileen…and your posture was very good!
Brava Eileen! And thanks for sharing it – when to make a change, when to let go, when to just laugh!
Okay, so your next book is "Outtakes from ‘Wisdom to Know the Difference’"? Perfect. And then you can publish "the making of…"; I think you’ve found a new medium of expression!
Oh my! You have taken my favorite prayer and made it hillarious. Thank you for the good laugh! Can’t wait to read your book. Thank you Denise B. C. for the funny forward!
Blessings!
Your video gave me the lift I needed today! I came on your site to contact you and say that your book came today, and it looks wonderful, and than I received the extra gift of watching you and your children. Just great. Post it to Your Tube if you haven’t already. ‘Making a book trailer–Take One.’
